The Trinity is a difficult subject, and has proved divisive in the history of the christian church. Today it is still so, and yet is so desperately vital to being a Christian.
Naturally, such an important doctrine will be attacked by the enemy of our faith, but,the Sword of God, His Word, defeats the lies of the enemy!! It is only in the Word of God that we find Truth, so what does the word say?
This study provides a brief but indisputable overview of the verses showing our God is "three in one", the Triune God.
Verses saying Jesus is God:
Hebrews 1:8 God the Father called the Son "God."
Isaiah 9:6 The "child" is called the "Mighty God."
Matthew. 1:23, Isaiah 7:14 Jesus is called Immanuel, which means "God with us."
John. 1:1 Jesus (the "Word") is called "God."
1 Timothy 3:16 Paul said Jesus was God "manifested in the flesh."
Colossians 2:8.9 Paul said Jesus was the "fullness of the Godhead in bodily form.
John. 20:28 Thomas said to Jesus, "my God."
Titus 2:13 Paul called Jesus "the great God."
Philippians 2:5,6 Paul said Jesus didn?t feel it was wrong to be considered "equal with God."
John 5:18 The Jews wanted to kill Jesus because He was "making Himself equal with God."
John 10:30 Jesus said, "I and the Father are one."
Genesis 1:1, Colossians 1:16 The Bible said God created all things and that Jesus created all things.
Micah 5:2 The messiah (Jesus) had always been in existence.
Isaiah 44:6; Revelation 1:2,8, 11,13 God claimed to be the "First and the Last." So did Jesus. God clearly states that He is the only saviour. The Bible also says Jesus is our saviour.
Verses saying the Father is God:
John. 8:41 "The only Father we have is God Himself."
Ephesians 4:6 "one God and Father of all "
Verses saying the Holy Spirit is God:
Acts 5:3,4 "you have lied to the Holy Spirit you have not lied to men, but to God."
Acts 28:25,26 Referring to Isaiah 6:9,10, Peter said the "Holy Spirit" spoke to the prophet Isaiah. In the book of Isaiah, it says the "Lord" spoke to the prophet Isaiah.
1 Corinthians 3:16 "Don't you know you are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you?"
Verses saying there is only one God:
Mark 12:32 "You are right in saying God is one and there is no other but him."
Mark 12:29 "The Lord our God, the Lord is one."
1 Timothy 2:5 "For there is one God ?"
1 Corinthians 8:4 "....and there is no God but one."
Galatians 3:20 "....but God is one."
James 2:19 "You believe there is one God. Good! "
Psalm 86:10 "....you alone are God."
Deuteronomy 6:4,5 "The Lord our God, the Lord is one ?"
Isaiah. 44:8 "Is there another God besides me?"
Isaiah 45:21 "There is no God apart from me ? there is none but me."
Isaiah 45:22 "For I am God and there is no other."
Isaiah 46:9 "I am God, and there is no other"
Isaiah 45:5 "I am the Lord, and there is no other; apart from me there is no God."
Isaiah 45:18 "I am the Lord, and there is no other."
Malachi 2:10 "Did not one God create us?"
Understanding the concept of a 3-in-1 God can be difficult. This is how I like to consider it.
We as humans are made up of 3 things. The first is flesh (our flesh and bones), the second is emotion and the third is spritual. These three parts make us who we are.
The trinity too is made up of 3 things, God who is like our spiritual side, Jesus who is like our flesh and the Holy Spirit who is like our emotional side.
Considering it this way it was all clear to me.
First, I will comment that there is no scripture anywhere in the Bible that says that belief in a trinity God is vital to being a Christian. This idea has to be added to what has been revealed by God through his holy spirit in the Bible. What is vital is acceptance of Jesus as the one whom he claimed to be, the Son of God, the one anointed by Yahweh.
God, by means of his holy spirit, reveals through the scriptures that Jesus was sent by the only true God, Yahweh, speaks for Yahweh, represents Yahweh, and was raised and glorified by the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Jesus never claimed to be, nor do the scriptures present Jesus as, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, whom Jesus represents and speaks for. -- Deuteronomy 18:15-19; Matthew 22:32; 23:39; Mark 11:9,10; 12:26; Luke 13:35; 20:37; John 3:2,17,32-35; 4:34; 5:19,30,36,43; 6:57; 7:16,28; 8:26,28,38; 10:25; 12:49,50; 14:10; 15:15; 17:8,26; 20:17; Acts 2:22,34-36; 3:13,22; 5:30; Romans 15:6; 2 Corinthians 1:3; 8:6; 11:31; Colossians 1:3,15; 2:9-12; Hebrews 1:1-3; Revelation 1:1.

Second, all instances in which the Son of God is referred to as "theos", "el", and "elohim" should be viewed as Hebraic usages of these words when applied to any other than Yahweh, since it is evident that Jesus is not his God who he was with in the beginning, the only true God who sent him. -- John 1:1,2; 17:1,3,5.

Third, the illustrations given to allegedly demonstrate the trinity do not actually demonstrate the trinity. If the trinity is made of three "parts", for instance, and assuming all three parts are equal, then the Father is not fully God, but rather 1/3 of God; the Son is not fully God, but rather 1/3 of God, and the holy spirit is not fully God, but rather 1/3 of God. A part is not "God", but would not be so when added together to make God.
Fourth, belief in the trinity greatly hinders the Christian from accepting the very basis of the atonement, so that, if the child of God is entangled with this belief (which is no where revealed by God's holy spirit in scripture), the holy spirit is being limited by that belief in revealing to the child of God the full meaning of atonement.
